On September 8 my mother woke up with numbest in her left leg. She
attributed this numbest to sleeping the wrong way and continued with
her regular activites. By September 17 my mother could not walk. We
took her to a Doctor who told us to immediately take my mother to the
Emergency room. We asked the reason and he suspected that maybe
there was a tumor on her spine which was adding pressure taking away
her ability to walk.
Upon our arrival at the hospital my mother was immediately whisked
away for an onslaught of test from MRI's, CAT Scans, Spinal Taps to
HIV tests! After 8 hours of this my mother was admitted into the hospital.
By the following morning my mother had seen 30 doctors!!
One doctor even insuitated that my mother really could walk and was
faking!!!
After 17 days of tests and 3 strokes my mother was diagnosed with
ATM. She is now in the rehab unit and is suffering from a severe
depression that comes and goes. She will be released from the hospital
on the 21st of this month. When we requested information about ATM
we were advised to get on the internet and research as they have no
information.
Any information you all could supply would greatly be appreciated!!!!
Thank you for "listening"
