My son was diagnosd with TM at T-12 a year ago Sept. 17. He was in an
acute care facility for 12 days and then was transferred to a rehab hospital
for the next three months. He was paralyzed from the waist down. By
Halloween, he was walking a short distance with a walker and knee immobilizer
and by Christmas he used crutches. By April of 97 he used a cane and was
wearing a KAFO. Today he walks with a slight limp but with no assistive
devices. He is a real fighter and never gives up. He gets tired but is very
determined. He even started golfing again. So, hang in there and keep up
the therapy. He does not go to to out-patient therapy anymore but does
stretching exercises at home and has a massage once a week using shiatsu and
refllexology.
