I had multiple attacks of mylelitis - so a 'diagnosis of convenience' of MS
was made so I 'qualified' for Avonex. I've been taking it since last
November - an injection once a week. It is reported statistically that in
37-40% of patients, it prevents future attacks. I have been struggling for
improvement since about the time I started taking the Avonex. It's not
supposed to stop an attack, though - or really produce any type of cure or
even relieve anything that's going on currently. It's expensive, too, but
there is a program which is described in the literature that comes with the
drug, that can reduce your cost.
