Hello, Mr Baker??

Sorry to read about your daughter, first every body with ATM is
different,I think your daughter is lucky in that she is so young, her
body is still developing and still growing, and the myelin that was
damaged stands a good chance of being repaired.

I myself had paralysis from the neck down, and was told that i would
stay the same for life!! and it took eighteen months for some return to
happen, so what the doctors say might be true?? but what they say is not
written in stone!!

I to had a lot of tone and tightness in my legs, but after being numb
with no feelings for so long it was great to have even this?? I took
baclofen and diazepam (valium) for this but as time has gone on i have
cut down these drugs as i have found you can get used to th strange
feelings, and as they change from day to day you can up the dose of
these drugs until you make yourself numb!!so you end up back at square
one!!!

Believe it or not i think your daughters bladder changes are a good
thing!! I went from a indwelling catherter to self-catheterization, then
i began to leak between cathing and it took another six months to get my
bowels and bladder under some sort of control!!

Remember i am not a doctor, but someone who has to live with ATM.

I hope your daughter recovers and i wish her lots of luck..

best regards Robert....
