Pain in TM

I am a doctor, aged 68, who suffers from transverse myelitis (up to Th
11) for the last five months. It is thought to be of ischaemic cause. In
the last 2-3 months the condition has been complicated with severe pains
in the legs (dysesthesia) and automatic muscle contractions. The usual
analgetic drugs and the antiepileptics have proven of no effect. For
this reason I would like to raise the following questions:
a) Could you tell me for how long the pain and the muscle contractions
will last?
b) Is there any effective medical therapy for these severe
complications?

Yours sincerely
