Today I have been in touch with a lady in London who seems to me to have TM. She has been
affected for about a year now. She hasn't (to her knowledge) been diagnosed with TM or anything
else but she doesn't seem to have much help and has not seen a Neurologist since January.
She phoned me tonight and was telling me about the creepy crawly feeling across the top of
her body which is starting to keep her awake at night, I was able to tell her that a lot of people
on this list mention similar feelings to that & she might be able to get drugs to relieve it if she
can manage to get an appointment with her Doctor. This made her feel a lot better as she
realised that it isn't something happening to her alone. She doesn't have access to the internet
so I have said that I will post her anything that she might find helpful. The other things that she
mentioned were the development of glaucoma - it might not be related, and she has also found
that she is regularly coughing up blood. I hope she will manage to see her local Doctor asap but
wondered if anyone else has any ideas? She walks on 2 sticks, has to self-cathe and basically
has been forgotten by the Health Service. Her physio stopped after her 4 months in hospital so
she doesn't really get much help now. I think there's a need for a support group for those not on
the internet but I'm not sure how to develop it. Meanwhile I seem to be haviing a relapse and am
on a quick course of high dose steroids again - hope we can stop it before it gets a hold! I look
forward to hearing from anyone with any brainwaves.
All the best
