With Sarah we used, unfortunately after about 1 year when her recovery seemed
to slow down, accupuncture, herbal therapy as well as physical therapy. Our
insurance company did pay for the accupuncture and physical therapy. She was
only getting therapy 2 times each week for less than 1 hour. This did not
seem to be enough to us, so we have at our own cost started with a physical
trainer who works with her 4-5 times each week for about 1-2 hours each time.
She also swims 3+ times each week. We are now 2 1/2 years into the TM. Her
improvement was very steady for about 9 months, then slowed, and then started
at a better rate about 5 months after. Her improvment now is really only
gaining strength in what is working, she doesn't seem to be improving
neurologically anymore, but we continue to work at it.
