>But here's what I think: I think when I have more muscle tension
and spasms in my back, the tension level rises up my back until it
reaches my
shoulders and neck, then I start getting the warning signs of the
oncoming
headache. If I can stop then and go lie down in the dark with a heating
pad
on my shoulders and neck, I can stop it. Particularly if I can get the
muscle
spasms to quit in my back.<

Ellen: I find the same to be true for myself. Never knew what a
migraine was until I hospitalized with ATM. Sense I experience about one
episode a week and find that there cause to be tension in my upper back
and neck. A Florinal tablet is the prescribed treatment but a quick back
and neck rub will relieve the headache sometimes just as well. Problem
being no one to administer the massage quickly enough.

I remember reading about a muscle or sheath, newly discovered in the
last couple of years. "Don't ask me the name and I'm sorry I cannot be
more pacific" This muscle-sheath supposedly surrounds half the scull
and down the neck to the shoulder area that is quite thin and was
according the this article. A possible reason for some migraine or
chronic headache sufferers, particularly tension headaches.> "For what
it's worth".

If your asking if I know the difference between a headache and migraine.
I was dx'ed as migraines. And can attest aspirin has no effect on mine.
One side of the head and light and sound sensitive, quit uncomfortable.
