Kevin -- I find your comment about the flu shot very
interesting. My neurologist is currently completing a study
on a patient who developed TM after a tetanus shot. I had a
tetanus shot myself only four weeks prior to the onset of my
TM attack. Although there will never be any way to find out
what actually brought on my TM, my neurologist is fairly
certain it was the tetanus shot given the lack of any other
explanation.

I had a flu shot last year but I think I'll pass this year
in light of your comment. It's not worth taking the chance!

I was told by my neurologist that was a possibility, but I
wasn't given any
percentages. I was 38 when TM struck.

Not to scare anybody, but I was convinced after my attack of
TM in October
1990 and the ensuing months, that I had MS. Every book I
read on MS gave me
this indication and I was hospitalized several times to test
for this.

The strange thing is that in October 1996 my nervous system
went haywire, but
this time with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. They think a flu
shot tripped it
off. I spent three months in the hospital.

Kind of weird, but something to keep in mind when they start
peddling these
shots in the fall.
