Hi

I've been reading the mail for several months now, but I haven't responded
to anything until now. My dx was myelitis - just plain old myelitis, and
it's been 3 1/2 years. To this mail, I just thought I'd mention neurontin
- I like it better than pamelor, which at Christmas, almost totally shut
down all my bodily functions.

Having had several attacks of myelitis, my dx is now MS, mostly so that I
qualify for beta interferon which I take by injection once a week. Have
been 'fighting' an attack for most of a year now. I had been used to
having times of feeling almost normal.

Cheers to everyone! We need it and deserve it!

Gail

Tell the Dr you want to try Pamelor. Same family of Rx but none of the
s.effects.

Debbie - I take it for tingling and numbness in my feet and right hand.
It doesn't eliminate the symptons completely, but does deaden them
somewhat. Side effects include, as you stated, tiredness and dry mouth.
Since I'm also depressed (wonder why), I take zoloft in the morning,
which tends to wake you up. The most bothersome side effect of the
amitriptilyne is dizzyness. I start to keel over if I get up to fast or
turn around to fast. Its all trde-offs, isn't it.
