" life's unfairness "

Hello everyone,

I am just "weighing in" on the unfairness (insurance) issue. It's obviously
a heated cyber arena at the moment - however I have a couple of thoughts to
add.

You know - we can talk about "unfairness" forever.

But the fact is life is "unfair". And there is NOTHING we can do to
change that fact. We are each born with different inherent abilities,
motivations, talents and genes. That's "diversity" too.

And yes - some of us suffer the burdens of early and catastrophic illness -
while others of us do not. We didn't intend to be facing these issues
but we are.

Insurance companies, capitalism and religious faith are some of the most
frequent
high profile targets of our frustration with our fragile human condition.
And yes - regarding insurance companies the first word out of their mouths
is DENIAL - but even if the medical world revolved without them - conspiracy
theorists, displeasure, illness and unfairness would remain.

Often times people - in their political zeal - expend precious time and
effort trying to make this world a "living utopia" ( attempts that are in
my opinion noble in concept) but in reality misguided and misplaced.

There is no "PERFECT ALL PAYING" health insurance - National Health Insurance
is no panacea. ( Reminder: look at the performance and costs of Medicare/
Medicaid )

We are instead challenged to balance our needs ( medical and otherwise ) to
meet our means.

NOT viceaversa.

Best regards,
Cathy

Energy is a precious commodity for all of us - even more precious to those
who are ill ... I chose to expend
it in a more positive worthwhile endeavor.
