information about myelitis

I have a friend who has asked me to get some data about Transverse
Myelitis. She is a young person and is scared to death of being
disabled mentally and physically by the disease.
She wants to know as much as possible about it.
Can anyone out there tell me some addresses that might tell of
the diseases stages, progression, speed of progression, eficacy of
medication etc..
