I would tend to agree with the advice Michael (Comm97) gave you. Is your
neurologist just making guesses? If your husband is experiencing numbness,
but not loss of use of his legs, and is still able to walk, they may need
to research further. Also, an enhanced MRI (with the Dye)should show
something like lesions on the spinal cord. If the "experts" at that
hospital can not see anything after an enhanced MRI, I would ask for other
opinions. Have they done EMG's on the legs, to test for nerve damage?

Did the doctors hint to you that it could be TM? Numbness and back pain
could be so many other things, especially if there are no lesions showing
up on MRI's. Could be something simple like a pinched nerve or Sciatica.
