LJones write about her daughter and TM in March 1997.
As far as being struck so suddenly, that seems to be the case in most
patients that get Transverse Myelitis, no matter what their age.
That sounds just like my case, I was struck December 30, 1996. Running
through airports with absolutely no problem, then all of a sudden my legs
started feeling uncomfortable, then downright painful, then within 1 1/2
hours, totally paralyzed from the waist down, and now that I think of it,
then there was no pain. I could feel people touching my legs, but couldn't
make them move. I am 45, but I think that no matter what age you are, it
happens quickly, which is very scary.
I am sure other people will respond to your letter, also. But don't worry,
everybody here knows exactly what you are going through.
