My name is Sandy and I have been on the TM list since January 1997. My
history of TM is in a past letter, maybe under my old e mail address of
'samiam'. Anyway, I was never paralyzed, but lost hot, cold and pain
sensation in my entire left side of my body. Around Feb. I was in constant
pain, with the squeezing feeling, burning, extremely hypersensitive skin.
This lasted about 3 weeks, then the pain went away for 2 weeks, I felt
really good. Then instantly the pain and same feelings were back. It was
very hard to handle. I thought I was better, then the pain strikes again. I
saw my neuro and he asked if I wanted something for the pain. I said okay,
he gave me Tegretol. I checked into the drug a bit ( there are some
postings from me about this) and decided I would not take it. I wanted to
be drug free if possible and figured I would 'grin and bear it'. I am very
happy with that decision. I saw a lady that does testing using the
electricity in our bodies and prescribes herbal pills. There is absolutely
no drugs in these pills, they are ALL herbs. She does this testing to help
people improve their health and any problems. She was dx with MS 8 years
ago. She has been through hell and back in her life - physically & mentally
(excuse the language). She started on this herbal program and studied it and
now is able to help others. Well, she is now 100% healthy. No signs of MS or
health problems. So, I started on this herbal program. In a month I felt
so very much better. I am just telling the facts that I did this herbal
program and I also got much better in terms of the TM - I am not saying that
the herbs fixed me, it could be coincidence. But, my energy is 100% better,
my overall health is better, I have NO pain from TM and no squeezing
feelings and I am contributing these improvements to the herbal program (and
a change to a positive state of mind). The list of foods I cannot eat is
humongous. The program is geared towards eating better and eating NO
processed foods. The foods I can't eat are: white flour, white pasta, white
sugar, brown sugar, peanuts, chocolate, orange cheddar cheese, beef, pork,
white vinegar, coffee, tea, pop, fried foods, mushrooms - to name a few.
After each testing, the food restrictions could change, depending on what my
body is saying. I find the whole process to be very interesting and am
enjoying it. Besides, I have lost weight - that's a bonus!!
This has been very long, but I don't write to the list very often. I think
improving ones overall health, eating habits and frame of mind - be
positive! COULD help some people. Yes, I know it probably won't have any
effect on those who are paralyzed. Oh - one other thing - STRESS! I was
under unbelievable stress - not work related - I don't work. Almost ALL of
my stress was self-inflicted. I was in a terrible state of mind, I hated
myself, I was depressed and was very very down. I believe the TM was pushed
upon me from being under too much stress and bad eating/lifestyle habits. I
was healthy to look at from the outside, but not on the inside. I have
taken steps (many) to alleviate the stress from my life. I no longer get
terrible headaches, grind my teeth, I don't have to wear my night retainer
to help my jaw, I FEEL WONDERFUL! I still can't feel hot or cold or pain
though. State of mind is very important - whether one has physical problems
or is perfectly healthy. I thank God for sending me this TM - in a mild
form, for it was the key to me finding my way, my happiness and ability to
love again. He sent me a message and I received it.
Sorry this is so very long.
Sandy K.
p.s. I put my legs up to my knees into a hot tub last week. The symptoms
came back. Squeezing, very very sensitive skin and pain - so, everyone out
there - be careful when using a hot tub. You may be able to get in, but not
out.
