My kids were 12 & 10, I told them the truth and talked to them as I would an
adult. I never told them "everything would be OK". They grew up a little
sooner and had a greater awareness of the meaning of "family", "love" and
"life" at a very young age.
my children are grown now and I look back at how I handled the situation with
TM and them; I can say I can't think of one thing I would change.
