You make me laugh, Julienne!!! And that's a great thing to do!! Thank
goodness I've never lost my sense of humor! (I've probably lost my *senses*
completely!!!<G>)
Now...about my "George!" About your immune system, etc.....I just wanted to
go back 16 years and tell you what my neurologist explained to me.....in
plain ole understandable English!! (and this was 6 months *after* the
onset...since that was when I could finally give "George" a name!!!! ;-) )
Basically, I assume...it's what you've been told, Julienne. I had a normal
virus (my daughter and husband had it within days of mine)...and when you get
sick, your body normally produces antibodies to counteract the virus. For an
*unknown* reason (the mystery of "George!!"), my body (and all of yours too!)
over-produced antibodies which then *ate* away the lining (myelin) of my
spine.
This is a very basic explanation that I've used many many times to explain to
someone what TM (George!) actually is!
Linda
PS Bill...I've been reading your email and everyone that has responded to
you. Please know that I have only the very best of thoughts for you!!! So
many have expressed sentiments so wonderfully!! Just hang in there....no
one, not even the very best neurologist in the world, can tell if or when you
will improve! So just keep those positive thoughts!!!
