Well were comparing scars are we! I'm in hospital and there's a sixteen
year old kid who has been paralyzed his entire life. Drew the most
wonderful pictures with a mouth stick. Drove around in a supped-up
motorized wheel chair and played tag with me. Didn't care when I
squirted musterd at him for running me down with it. And could break a
bone my transfering from his chair to his bed. Breathed my what is
called neck breathing and loved life as much as anyone. He had to come
into the hospital twice a year because he was growing and wasn't
supposed to. Could only feel on half his face, thats it. This kid, half
my age tells me "you either laugh or go crazy. Get on with life, because
life won't wait for you. There is always someone worse off than
yourself". He's been in hospital more than most doctors. Bones so
brittle when they break "and they always do", his mom sets them and they
continue on with out losing a step. Or the guy upstairs with the brain
stem problem that could only blink. Just blink.// My dear friends we are
connected my a commond thread. If we could discover what the cause of
that connection. The one thing we all have in commond the reason we have
this conditioin. Then my God we have done the greatest thing we shall
ever do in our lives and that would be warnning others to not to follow.
Big hurt, little hurt, makes no diference hurting is hurting and it all
makes me want to cry.//Dave
