I am very sorry for your situation and I wish and hope like everything that
you experience as much recovery as possible. And I do realize that a lot of
us, comparatively, have "nothing to complain about." But I don't think you
want us to comfort ourselves with the thought that, "Oh, well, at least I'm
not as bad off as Bryan"? If I sprain my ankle, it's not a big deal to
someone with a broken leg, but it still hurts. We're all at different stages,
each with its own trials and victories, and even though some symptoms are not
extreme, we do get "down" about them or fearful of what may happen next when
we experience new or recurring symptoms. Talking, informing, sharing,
comforting, venting -- that's what this forum is for, no matter what level
we're at.
True, we often, all of us, need to put things in perspective and focus on
what we can do rather than on what we can't and on the fact that, no matter
what state we're in, it could be worse.
I, too, often think of you and Jim -- I don't know if anyone else on the list
is paralyzed -- and wonder how you cope and function.
Said with all kindness and good will,
Barbara
