I believe I have mentioned this book before on the list but for the sake of
the new members, this book might prove helpful. It is "Minding the Body,
Mending the Mind" by Joan Borysenko. In a nutshell, she gives a"unique
blend of mental and physical exercises ....to elicit the mind's powerful
relazation response to boost your immune system, overcome chronic pain and
alleviate the symptoms of a host of stress-related ilnesses." It's
published in paperback by Bantam Books, 1988.
I noticed that many of the exercises were very similar to what I had done
in physical therapy and there is also some resemblance to yoga movements.
She also discusses meditation in order to control stress.
