Couple comments regarding discussion on circulation:
Originally my primary physician thought I had a circulation problem in my
legs. (my numbness came on over a several month period, not hours like a
lot of you) My legs seemed to go to sleep alot, in fact, one of the worst
symptoms was they would both "go to sleep" while I was walking. I had a
treadmill test to check circulation and blood pressure in my legs and it
was normal.
Other symptom I had after my TM diagnosis and when my right leg seemed to
be getting a little better was my head and opposite arm lost feeling. Also
had stabbing pains in the side of my head like electric jolts. Neurologist
ordered spinal tap and evoked potentials (checking for MS) when these
symptoms appeared. (Tests were normal). Had no explanation otherwise.
Most of the feeling has returned to my affected parts (toes and ends of
fingers are a little numb) and when I am overly tired I get intense
itching on my head. Am extremely grateful for the minimal amount that I
was affected by TM. I never took any medication but did discover I was B12
deficient and restoring that really helped my energy level. I also
attribute the return of feeling to my leg to my acupuncturiest. Started
last October going two times a week, now go once a month. I saw alot of
improvement the first six weeks.
Also read discussion about feet and shoes with interest- last year I spent
more money and time trying and buying different shoes because nothing
seemed to feel right. Spend most of my time in my sneakers because they
seemed to give me the most support. Also found some sandals made by TEVA
that were especially comfortable, are contoured to fit your feet and came
excellent support. Most of my shoes feel okay now and I have quite a
collection! My husband suspects I'm related to Imelda Marcus though!
P.S. We had 31 inches of snow to dig out! Fortunately, I am able to
shovel if I take my time and don't get carried away, don't even mind doing
it anymore!
