Carolyn,

Did you call your doctor about this? I'd ask him or her about anything that
was new, sudden, and severe. Nearly ever since I had TM my left hand has had
varying degrees of numbness, has been slightly swollen, and is often a
darker, pinker color and is often cold. My physical therapist use to remark
on the coldness as we did exercises where I faced her and held her arms; she
could feel the coldness through her shirt sleeve. There is also a squeezing
type of pain in my left arm (what I described as the blood-pressure-cuff
feeling); when I first had TM the pain was burning. Sometimes I have the
feeling -- it's kind of hard to describe -- that my fingertips are filling
with fluid or something. Maybe it's just an increased numbness. I haven't
asked the dr. about circulation but want to mention it next time I talk with
him. One thing I am sometimes concerned about is that a symptom of something
else being wrong might be passed off as a flare-up of TM symptoms.

My left leg from lower calf down is also reddish-purplish and blotchy. I
meant to ask about that last time and forgot -- didn't have it written down.

My right arm, which wasn't affected by TM, in the last months has developed
numbness and tingling off and on. I just remembered recently that it was
doing that just after I had my third child (two years before TM); I also had
numbness in two toes then. It was assumed that the baby (who was 12 lbs. at
birth...) might have been pressing on a nerve and the problem in my arm might
be because I slept on that side. Both symptoms did go away over several
months. I've wondered if there was any relation between that and the TM; the
neuro. doesn't think so. I currently sleep on my right side since it is
uncomfortable to sleep on my left and seems to make the numbness worse -- so
I wonder if that's causing the numbness and tingling in my right arm.

My worst pain is in my back, right between my shoulder blades. It seems to be
worse in the morning and in certain positions, but will also spring up
suddenly out of nowhere.

I'd definitely call the dr., even if things go back to normal, and see what
he/she says. Let me know how it goes.

Prayerfully,
Barbara
