When I first got ATM in 1989 I had very good insurance from my job. It paid
100% and had no limit. That was very fortunate for me since I was in ICU
for 2 1/2 months and rehab for 5 months. It also paid for 24hr home nursing
for 1 1/2 years. But all good things come to an end. I was only eligible
for the insurance at after leaving the company (under COBRA) as long as the
company still had the same insurance. I am now on medicare and medicaid.

I also had short term disability then long term. Long term disablity ended
when I started receiving Social Security. The amount you get for Social
Security depends on how long you had worked and paid into it. I was only 21
and that was the first and only job I had ever had. I had only worked 1 1/2
years and had not worked long enough to qualify for SSI. I was only able to
get SSI because I was under 22 at the time and collect under surviors
benifits under my father who is deceed.
