I'm also T5, but my stiffness and spasms are around my rib cage. The
best thing I've found is meditation (inner smile, where you sort of visit
various organs/body parts with smile energy). Second best is chi
gong--the kind I do includes a spinal twist that helps stretch out that
area.

Being tired or stressed definitely make it worse. Exercise, like
walking, generally helps.
