I have heard that extremes of heat are not desirable.....however, during
the winter, I felt I had blocks of ice not feet and found a hotwater bottle
of immediate benefit, although they would not let me use one in hospital and
I had to be careful that it wasn't too hot by testing it against other parts
of the body.

I progressed from this to foot spa baths which seemed to set up an
interference pattern with the tingling I felt, to the degree that I had no
pain for at least an hour afterwards. Best of all though has been a
jaccuzzi (?spelling). I get about 2 hours of relief from that although I
feel as if there is a fog from the knees downward. The dilemma seems to be
experience pain and know where your legs are or cut the pain and lose touch
!

Any thoughts ?

Best wishes

Yes, Rosie....isn't it good to write and having people understand *exactly*
what you're referring to?!!?!

My neurologist told me from the start that heat would intensify the pain. I
find this true in the summer months.....but not so in warm water. Seems that
the climate effects it more.

I also have times when my feet are freezing.....or I think they are. But
there are times when I feel sooooo cold, and yet my husband will feel my feet
and tell me they are warm! Still end up having to put on socks in bed
sometimes!!! ;-)

PS Sorry for several responses all at once.....finally feeling a bit better
from the flu! My legs are getting back to what I refer to as *my norm.*
