<<Debbie,
It was a good while after my TM attack before I felt I could resume
sexual relations or even had the desire to try. When we did, I was very
dismayed to find that that area had also been affected by TM. I tried to
concentrate on enjoying the preliminaries and being glad I could be there for
my husband. It took some time to work up the nerve to ask my neurologist
about it. He said it should improve over time (he said that about most
everything those first few months.) Fortunately, it did, sometime within the
first year or so. I would say sexual function and feeling is almost
completely normal now. The biggest problem now is tiredness ( we get to bed
mu
ch too late) and sometimes when symptoms flare up I'm either preoccupied or,
particularly with back pain, don't physically feel like it. My husband,
thankfully, is a very kind, patient man.
Hope this helps in some way. My advice: give it time, and as my husband
said, "keep practising." :-)
I imagine some have given it time with no improvement. That would be
another question for the neurologist.

Dear Debbie and Barbara,

This was and is one of the most difficult effects of TM for me......and for
my husband. From the beginning in '81, I was left with no internal feeling.
Something very difficult to face in my early 30s.....and would no longer
experience such a intimate part of the relationship with my husband.

After emotionally accepting this, my husband and I are closer than ever!
And I'd agree with your husband, Barbara.......keep practicing!!! ;-)
