Dear Kay:

I was up to 1800mg of Neurontin daily. About two weeks on the medication I
noticed that I started gaining some weight. I also noticed that my face
looked a little puffier than usual. Being a nurse, I checked in my PDR and
sure enough "Cushingoid features" could be a side effect. But all this is
temporary and the benefits of the drug far outweigh the side effects. I am
now weaned off Neurontin and have noticed that the process is reversing. I
also had the foggy feeling in my head at the start of taking this
medication. But it literally saved my life. I was suffering what we called
"spine attacks" which was a short-ciruiting of the nerve impulses. I would
tense into seizure-like spasms that made me feel as though I couldn't
breathe. The neurontin was my shock absorber. It got me through the worst
time. Good luck and take care.
