Sorry, I replied to Steve's response to your 1st message before reading your
2nd message. Yes, I've been told the same thing by 2 neuros -- both MS
specialists -- that in 50% of the cases, MS is actually the cause of the
first TM attack. It's just that it can't be called MS until there have been
at least 2 attacks over time *and* there are demyelinating lesions found in
the brain. Apparently TM is only in the spinal cord. Scleroses (MS) can be
found in the brain *and/or* the spinal cord.

I had TM at age 30 -- a mild case, thank God! -- then nothing for 19 years!
Was dx'd w/MS 3-1/2 yrs ago. I agree with your neuro -- MS (in 7 out of 10
cases) is not nearly as bad as what I've read about TM on this list. If you
