Debbie, you are not alone. My brother encountered ATM 5 years ago. Like
yourself, he a paraplegic. Here's a copy of what he posted recently:
------------------------------------
"Hi my name is John. I am a paraplegic. I got tm 5 years ago. I had a
case of
the shingles in 1977 I was 29 years old. I am 49 now. When I contracted
tm
the doctors had no clue as to why. After I mention the shingles, the
doctors
proposed; that my tm was shingle related. He said that I got a virus on
my
spine. My immune system detected a virus but it produced the wrong
virus.
Since all viruses stay in the body, the body produced anti bodys for
shingles. Therfore the virus in my spine was able to do what is did.
Hope this helps......John (yungfamily(AT)aol.com
