My bunion is on my left foot, the most hypersensitive part of my body, so
I'm thinking I want to get it surgically repaired (finally) because I'm
tired of the extra pain. Since I'm trying to increase my physical
activity and switch to a job that involves more standing, less pain would
be good.
Anyone had any foot surgery or the like who also experiences
hypersensitivity as a symptom? Any thoughts in general? Anyone know any
holistic/non-surgical ways to treat a bunion? (I already gave up wearing
heels and pointy-toed shoes years ago, well before TM.)
Response on pain control issues: I don't tolerate many drugs well and am
fortunate that I only have serious pain mostly in a couple of spots on my
left leg. Acupuncture worked really well for the pain in my thigh and
knee. Long-term chiropractic/massage therapy/cranio-sacral therapy also
seem to reduce the pain, given that it's come back 4 months after I quit
getting that therapy. (Acupuncture didn't work as well on the girdle
pain under my rib cage, although meditation and chi gong helped some;
probably time helped as well.) Has anyone else tried acupuncture for
pain control?
Response on allergies: I've had allergies and asthma all my life, but
improved them with diet changes and acupuncture/Chinese herbs. They are
still better after the TM (5 years ago), but moving to a polluted urban
area 15 years ago and having high stress jobs made them much worse.
FYI--Sulfites are also found in 99% of all wines, including champagne,
and are used to treat fresh grapes (except those sold as organic) in the
U.S. MSG can also be an allergy trigger for those allergic to sulfites,
and most Chinese food is laced heavily with it.
