<< I wonder how much you may have heard about recurrences.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who is curious as to the statistics of TM
victims that experience relapses. It's one of my most profoundly
frightening
thoughts. I realize that at this point you are just trying to recover from
the first onslaught and so am I, but the lack of warning from the first
occurance leaves me so unsure of the future. I would say that is possibly
one of the worst things about this. The lack of information and the lack
assurances from professionals about the future possibilities.

Dear Gary,
This has been one of the greatest fears I've had to wrestle with also --
that this might happen again. One neurologist said it wasn't likely; another
said I was about 20% more likely to have this happen than someone who had
never experienced it.
Others on this list have had recurrences.
I am a Christian, and the only way I have of dealing with this fear is
by remembering that God has a purpose in everything, that, as He was with me
and helped me the first time, He will be again (still) if He allows it again,
and going to His Word. Here are some verses that help me:
Isaiah 41;10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am
thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold
thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Psalm 56:3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
II Cor. 4: 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man
perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a
far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which
are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things
which are not seen are eternal.
These are just a few; there are multitudes of others. I have to practice
an active faith, deliberately choosing to trust rather than fear -- sometimes
several times a day.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
