My dog had degenerative myelopathy. The vet gave her eight weeks of shots of
steroids. Now she takes Winstrol twice a day orally. Other than appearing
kind of clumsy sometimes, she has done quite well. She has been on the pills
since last summer.

My dog is about 14 years old and a Shepard/lab mix.

Hope this helps.

Subject: CANINE MYELOPATHY

I do not mean to insult anyone or take up too much time with this
post, but my 8 year old Toy Fox Terrier has been suffering with an
unknown, apparently neurological disease since '93. It is looking alot
like Degenerative Myelopathy, the auto-immune type supposed occurs
only in German Shep. and a few other large breeds. Has anyone heard of
this in Terriers or similar myelopaties? I have posted to vetNG etc
and am begining to consult again since his condition has worsened. I
would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. He did not tolerat ADT
so has beeen on nutritional and homeopathic and TTEAM type massage but
he is just holding his own at best. While I am lucky to be in good
health myself I can nearly empathize with those suffering such
troubles since his pain is so close to me. Thank you,
