My friend's husband has recently been diagonosed with transverse myletis.
They tried to treat it with steriods but the lessions did not respond.

It started as a backache and a tingling sensation on one side of his body. He
now has numbness from his armpits down. The doctors do not think they can do
much else now, but talked about filtering his blood later if things do not
improve. Has anyone found any successful treatments. If not, how much
improvement can he expect from his current status.
