Hello Jim,
My name is Gary K, and I'm kind of new to this area. I was diagnosed with TM
exactly one year ago today when I fell, paralyzed below the waist on a
vacation to Hawaii. From the moment I entered the hospital, although I was
dealing with both a neurosurgeon and a neurologist, I had my wife contact my
internist at home. He's my Family doctor and I have always trusted his
judgement implicitly. While, the neurologists I continued to see did their
investigations, my doctor examined every possible avenue. I am a plumber and
as such, have always been exposed to many kinds of chemicals. I work with
many different kinds and am exposed to many on jobsites, which often include
hospitals (think-waist piping). Unfortunately no chemical causes were found.
When the attack first struck, my liver enzymes were extremely elevated for
the first several days...no one ever discovered why, or if it was related.
This is something that I have not seen many notes on in the net. Has anyone
else had the same experience? High liver enzymes can be indictive of many
things...toxins can be one cause.
