Aurore, I'm glad to see someone else promoting acupuncture! When I started
acupuncture, I had very little feeling in my right leg although mobility
and coordination had improved. I started out with 2 treatments a week for
about a month (last October) then once a week, and am trying to extend now
to once every three weeks. I saw the most improvement the first month but
now I just like to go because it makes me feel really good! Hard to
explain but it is both relaxing and energizing at the same time. I agree
with you though that you need to have someone experienced. Also, I had a
very mild form of tm that progressed very slowly. The inflammation was
actually below the tailbone in what's called the "conus" area which if I
understand corrrectly is where the nerves branch out at the base of the
spine. I feel extremely fortunate to have been minimally affected but it
did take 5 months for a diagnosis of TM and I think I am still a high
suspect for MS. Also found out I had a B12 deficiency this fall and when
this was addressed alot of my energy returned. My neurologist doesn't
think there is a relationship between the B12 and tm but I wonder if your
B12 is low long enough whether it could cause this kind of nerve damage.
Anyone heard of such a thing?
PS. Glad to see another Barbara on the list... so I'll call myself........
