Being an Oncology nurse, I give several of these medications to my patients.
The steroids - well, what a lovely thing to have to experience myself.
The interferons - well, my doctor has not started me on these, but swears
that they would not be as high of a dose and as big on side effects as those
given to my BMT patients. My patients suffer severe flu like symptoms -
major migrains, major muscles aches, shaking chills and fever. Does anyone
have these problems with the Avonex or any of the other interferons given
for TM/MS? We also give Cytoxan and Gamimmune to our cancer patients, which
surprised me that they are sometimes given to the TM/MS patients. I know
too much about some of these to have this disease!
