Hi -

This is Barb in Louisville. Bill in Louisville had a pretty bad
experience with neurontin.
But everyone is different and I think more people on the board have done
well with it.

He continues to take it. He takes 300's twice per day. However, he was
first given it when it was a "trial" in 94. He really didn't take it
very often back then - kind of laid it aside then in 95 he began to take
a ton of it and collapsed one night. Of course he was taking other
medications but we were never sure. He went into a type of seizure in the
night. The little slip inside the neurontin talks about a trial that had
2,000 people in it and 8 people out of that died in the night so they
weren't sure what made them die or some such comment. Something about it
being insignificant against the 2,000 people. Scared me silly, though.

Even to this day---Bill is very very bad tonight. He's been to ER twice
in about two weeks and may go again tonight but it MAY be caused by
something that happened in a Colonoscopy - but many people close to him
have talked and some people think these Gabapentins might be somehow
interefering with his nerve to his stomach.
Maybe that is not possible - I don't know.

I don't like that medicine, however, I have searched information about it
on the Internet and many many people like it.

Bill says it makes his feet swell and it helps his stomach to not hurt
but he thinks it does nothing much for his legs - no affect. I hope this
helps. Most of what you will find on the Internet is positive.

Barb D. in Louisville who may be going to ER again tonight. This Va is
doing nothing except sending him back home with medicine.
