Hey group -

A while back I wrote and told you that I was weaning
myself off of Neurontin, and that I would let you know
how things turned out. I decided to do this since I
felt that it had stopped being effective, and cause I
wanted to do a reality check about where I am now. So
- I am completely off it now. I am tingling more, but
I am also more alert and have more energy. I will
stay off for awhile, and then decide what I want to
do. Back to all those quality of life issues .....

Also - I have asked for an electric wheelchair. I can
walk, but it becomes very painful very fast. I work
for a large company, and there are five buildings on
our campus - after a few meetings in different
buildings I am really miserable. I am also miserable
shopping, going to art galleries, etc. So I decided
that pain is not really that productive, and I could
do more if I wasn't on my feet.

My primary physician put in a referral for a chair.
It was declined. He sent in more information. They
OK'ed a standard wheelchair. So - I will ask him to
give them more info - the paralysis and pain are also
bad in my right hand, so a standard wheelchair is not
going to solve things. Arrgghh. I hate fighting this
one, since I have a certain amount of trouble asking
for a chair when I can walk. Sometimes assumptions
about what is and isn't disabled can be hard even for
TMers!

Oh - one more thing. I am finally able to lose some
weight. I gained a whole bunch of weight since I am
not very active (and do love food). I have been going
to weight watchers since Feb, and have lost about 20
pounds. I wonder if the Neurontin was affecting my
ability to lose.......

Take care everyone - Ann
