You have come to the right place for your father and mother.
This list is a group of the best people in the world--they're
from all over the world and are all either patients with tm or
caretakers of such!
Your father is going to continue to get better. He's starting
off with two of the reasons on his side....a positive attitude
and a wife et al who are supporting him! All of you need to
do is continue the path you've begun and he will continue to
make improvements!
I meant to tell you that I was 57 at the time of onset of tm and
feel that I have come a long way just as your father will...I must
repeat that attitude is 1/2 the battle and it sounds like he's ahead
of the game there. At my age and that of your dad, we have much
to live for and getting on with the program, rather than asking 'why
me' or whining about what has happened, is a must!! I must also
admit that we laughed our way through learning to stand, walk,
and every other thing I had to relearn...it was so much better than
crying! and honestly was funny! Somehow laughter breaks the
tension of the learnee and the helpee as we struggle together to
get better.
Tell your folks they can ask any question that comes to them for
some one on this list will have dealt with it before. Tell them that
we welcome them--only sorry that your dad had to get tm to meet
us.
Again, welcome. JanH
