Hi Nancy,
I'm Angela from PA and I have had TM since July 11, 1998 it is
almost a year. For two years prior to the TM I was working out six days a
week and even had treadmill for at home on Sundays. I had lost a tremendous
amount of weight and then you can guess what happened, I got TM and have
gained it back. I am working real hard now at getting back to working out.
I was able to do 2.3 miles an hour on the treadmill today at the gym for 35
minutes. I know it's not much but I am trying to do something rather than
nothing. I have been extremely frustrated and upset over the weight gain. I
hate to even go out of the house anymore. Anyway, I also take large dosages
of neurtin and can't image not taking this medication. It really keeps me
going. I have been doing a lot of upper body weights to try and keep the
upper body as strong as possible. They said this is why I got out of the
hospital and rehab so fast with the acute onset of TM because I had such good
upper body strength I could get myself around so much better.
Please keep trying to get the weight off. I know if you do (and if
I get the weight off) I will feel better if with the effects of TM. Please
it is so important that you keep trying.
When TM struck me, I had been working out for two years and then
two months before this all happened, I quite smoking. So the way I look at
it is for the first time I was trying to be health by working out and stop
smoking and then this.
Needless to say I started smoking again which I should not have done,
but I just could not help it.
Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Sorry about rambling on. Take care .

Angela from PA
