[TMIC] medicines and weight gain w/ tm

hello everyone!
have a few more ? to ask.
it has been 16 mths. now since the onset of tm. i have gained 45lbs. since
then. i was on prednisone in pill form and had 2 drips while in the hospital.
no matter what i do the weight does not come off! i have stopped taking
prednisone since last October but nothing is changing.
my internist attributes the weight to the disease, the fact that i do not
have a thyroid, the predisone still in my system, and the edema i have
because of this. it's still depressing to look like this although i know
things could be worse.
after getting info from the internet on neurontin and baclofen, they both say
that one of the side effects is weight gain. when i asked the dr. about it he
said he never heard of such a thing before. i can't go off either one now-if
i did i would be hanging from a tree somewhere or dancing on the ceiling. the
pain w/o it would be too much.
has anyone, especially females ( since our chemical makeup makes it harder to
control weight) ever experienced this? if so what did you do if anything?
just curious .
any input will be promising.
