Cheryl - I have been taking Ultram for four years. I am taking 2X50 mg.
four time per day. This is the maximum allowable dosage. At this high a
dose, there is a risk of seizures. I've suffered from all these symptoms
and more. When I started I was nauseous most of the time, but tolerate it
quite well now. I sorry to report that it DOES cause drowsiness and
fatigue. It also works well to take away the burning pain but doesn't
really have any affect on the aching pain many of us chosen get. I've just
recently taken on a new Dr. (a physiatrist who specialized in pain
management) because the drowsiness is starting to interfere with my everyday
life (sound familiar?). He has got me taking 1800 mg. of neurontin in three
doses now in an attempt to get of the ultram, but it isn't working well.
I've run out of ultram for a day when I wasn't managing my meds very well
and I can tell you it is addictive. I was in pretty bad shape by the end of
the day. Well, I've gone on too long. This might be worth a try as I know
it can be effective...Bob

Hi
Has anyone tried ultram for pain ? I just read in McCall's about it.
The article was about fibromyalgia, but it said ultram works in the brain and
spinal cord to dull signals for severe pain. It is safer than addictive
narcotics and does not cause drowsiness. It does have side effects -
itching, dizziness.nausea, constipation and headaches, but these may be avoided
by starting on a low dose and gradually increasing how much you take.
I'm having constant burning pain in my trunk and right leg. The
neurontin helps a little, but it's starting to really interfere with my
everyday life.
Does anyone have any other ideas ?
Thanks in advance,Cheryl
