Hi All,
Just after I posted on Saturday,my daughter called and said Faith =
was not holding her o2 They want her over 90% and she kept dropping to =
88. They were questioning if it was her heart. It seems that large =
weight babies commonly have a thickening of the heart muscle and they =
don't breathe deeply enough. They did an EKG which was not conclusive =
and she's having an ultrasound today. An n/g tube was put in for feeding =
since she seems to forget to breathe while eating. One of the nurses' =
said she thought that she is a "lazy" baby and just wants to sleep and =
eat (sounds like me). Now it's just waiting to find out the dx. Today =
she is at 1 liter nasal cannula and her sats are at 99-100%. The good =
news is even if it is the heart it usually resolves itself in a few =
days. If not she will go on heart meds for a few months. Regardless it =
is not life threatening.=20
Nick is still doing very well and should go home in about 3 wks.
My niece had a girl this a.m. Hannah Rose weighed 5 lbs and is 18 =
inches long. There are now 8 June birthdays in the family!!
Thank you all for the prayers and for caring. Cheryl
