i am writing in hopes of getting some much needed
advice/support/motivation...
mine is a long complicated story (as are most of us tmers). i'll do the
short version here first. i got tm 11 years ago at the age of 14. i was
completely paralyzed from the waistdown. my right leg came back fuoll
strength quickly. my left was two months before any movement at all. slowly
but surely i progressed to afo, and the to nothing. a year later i was
riding bikes and swimming in pretty good shape. then i kept having back and
ankle pain and stopped exercising. i then became depressed and am very
frustrated now. i am trying hard to get back to where i was but am at my
wits end. i keep thinking i should see a psychologist to help my mental
state first. i have a physmed dr appt next week to look at my afo that is
uncomfortable now. i also want to look into diet, nutritionists and massage
therapy. o f course insurance is a hassle too.
i guess this is a jumbled note, but any thoughts you have would be great.
ive had tm for along time, but feel like im going through it all over again
because i didnt deal with it prperly from the start.
i'm hoping to come to the conference in august.
thank you very much, gb
