Hi,
I have taken CoQ10 for about 4 years, maybe a little more or less.
It has dramatically improved my heart function. My blood pressure medication has
been reduced by half. My use of sub-lingual nitroglycerin has become almost
non-existent. I no longer use the nitro patches, which I previously used daily.
My EKGs are now nearly normal. The previous damage is still there, that's not
going to change, but my doctor thinks I have stopped the progression of my heart
disease.
In the past three years every test he has taken has shown more improvement over
the last one. The doctor is now recommending CoQ10 to his other cardiac
patients. When I began taking it he was very skeptical (to say the least). He
always laughs at me for what he calls my "roots and berries" approach to medicine.
I do still take conventional heart medications but in much lesser amounts.
My mother, my husband, and his aunt are also taking CoQ10 and all have
heart troubles of various kinds. Though they haven't shown the amount of
improvement that I have, they are still improving.
I started with 100mg daily and for the past two years have taken 50my daily.
>From all the info I have found there are no adverse side affects and I would
recommend it to anyone who has heart problems including high blood pressure or
high cholesterol. My cholesterol count by the way is
20 points below average with no dietary changes. I don't know if the
CoQ10 had any effect on that or not but I won't look a gift horse inthe mouth.
One thing that has to be a consideration is the cost. I just renewed my suppy
yesterday. A bottle of 50 capsules was 12 dollars and change
for thirty capsules. That's about 40 cents a day. Worth it to me.
Have a great day
Alice
