I replied earlier with definitions for diabetes mellitus and myelitis and
transverse myelitis, but another thought came to mind later on; that is, that
many diseases can produce some similar symptoms and many ailments can affect
muscle movement and sensation. When I went to the hospital I had multiple
tests run, like most of us: among them were tests for MS, lupus, stroke,
aneurysm, lyme disease, Vitamin B-12 deficiency, thyroid problems,
Epstein-Barr virus....many others I can't think of right now. All of that to
say, confusion is understandable, on our part and sometimes the medical
community's, as they try to determine what is causing the symptoms. But all
of the things that can cause these symptoms are not related. Am I making
sense? It's past my bedtime. :-) I don't remember if blood sugar was one of
the things that was checked -- wouldn't be surprised.
