[TMIC] glucosamine question

Hi, everyone,
I have a question to ask. I do not have TM, but have pain in my spine
right between my shoulder blades. That is the same spot where my mom was
affected by TM, so I have made 2 visits to the Dr, and he referred me to an
ortho three times. Until the last time (after Easter) we did not know that
my mom had TM.
The only things that have been done is an xray, and the ortho says I
have degenerative disc problems, but that I am in better shape than he is .
He told me to get lots of exercise, and prescribed Relafen. My aunt told me
about glucosamine, so I got some of that. The Drs here do not discuss that
kind of treatments with you, just prescriptions. So, do I take just the
glucosamine, or it and the relafen? If I take them together, will the
relafen defeat the glucosamine, or do I take them at separate times? Or just
take Ibuprofen, and lay on the floor when it hurts too much to work.
That is what I do right now, get my walkman, put in a book tape, get a shirt
embroidering, and lay on the floor. Usually, as soon as I get settled flat
on my back, I fall asleep, and wake up as soon as the shirt is done
embroidering. That used to be enough, but now I am up to 3 or 4 times a day
flat on my back. The pain is a overwhelming throbbing, that gets to the
point where I cannot concentrate on what I am doing. Then, I figure it is
break time, and listen and fall asleep. The only trouble with that is, after
laying on the floor, I have one spot at the base of my spine, between my
hips, where I have a lump, and when that hurts, I cannot walk. I spent 3
days in bed flat a few months ago, unable to walk more than one room away.
So, laying down is a temporary fix, that aggravates that problem. Any
suggestions?
