We have a lot of these symptoms with TM. The thing that I found most interesting was the mention of Diabetes mellitus. When I saw the term Mellitus,
this was a red flag to try to find out whether this is like TM or MS.
I did a search on the web for Diabetes mellitus and found this site: http://pharminfo.com/pubs/msb/diabetes.html
Here are just a few sentences from the URL that look interesting:
"IDDM is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks and ultimately destroys the beta-cells. While the classic symptoms-- hyperglycemia and
ketosis--can develop rapidly, the disease itself is a chronic process that may be present for years. Symptoms occur late in the course of the disease"
" Another promising avenue is oral tolerance therapy, which is being used for other autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis and multiple
sclerosis)."
Since this group seems to have more answers to questions that most Dr's, here are my questions:
Has anyone with TM been tested for Diabetes mellitus?
Should we be tested for this - in other words, could TM really be this other diagnosis?
Is it worth looking for more info on this - or have others done research only to find that it's not worthwhile?
