Barbara -
I think you nutshelled it very well (do I remember you used to be a nurse,
or do I have you confused with another of our elite membership?)
My relapse was called just that because I went from walking with canes to no
movement or feeling from waist down; because it was gradual over a week or
so, not sudden like the initial onset; and because a follow-up MRI showed
much more extensive damage than the MRI done at the time of the first
attack - hence RECURRANT IDIOPATHIC ACUTE TRANSVERSE MYELITIS ...and I've
even sort of learned to spell it! I'm the one being managed by Imuran and
tracked by an extremely conscientious Neuro, and I'm back to walking with
canes. Yes, I have up days and down, sometimes I can't walk at all due to
stress or a UTI or a martini night that went too long, but on the whole I've
got a good rich life and I'm greatful. Looking forward to meeting some of
your faces in Seattle.
Love
Julienne
