Hi,I'm Jeff Douglass,
I got TM about 8 or 9 years ago.I had walked over to the local pub =
one block from my house.Shot a couple games of pool
with a freind,then sat down and had two beers.Every thing felt =
normal,UNTIL, I got up to walk home.My right leg was numb
and completely stiff.Quite embarrassing, having to have help to get =
home after two beers.I took quite a razzing over that one.
TM hits quick.
I went to the doctor three days later because the problem didn't =
go away.He sent me to a neurologist.X-ray,CAT-scan,MRI
you know the drill.Then he told me that I may have,A.TM, B.MS, orC. =
cancer on my spinal cord.Then took a months=20
vacation in Chicago without giving me a definate diagnosis.After he =
got back he told me it was TM and scheduled me for
steroid treatment.Which I took on an outpatiant basis because I have =
five kids and a mortgage.It was like he expected me to
let it go at that.I had to pitch a fit to get him to give me a =
referal for physical therapy.They had no idea what to do with me,so
I pitched another,and he sent me to the KU Medcenter.They told me I =
had a scar where the lesion had been,and I was pretty=20
much stuck with the symptoms.I havn't been to see anyone about it =
since.My job is pretty good physical therapy,I'm grounds
keeper on 23 acres.
I have been reading some of the stuff in the archives on =
relationships.My ex was not very understanding of my physical
inabilities.She thought I didn't love her anymore.So I have been =
divorced for three years.She should have waited for Viagra
to come out.It really does help.
